Manhattan Fire Cocktail
Most of the time when we roll our Mixology Dice, we don't use all of the ingredients. But in the hands of a skilled mixologist, like Christine Dionese, it's possible to create a drink that melds all of the flavors into a unique cocktail.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz Whiskey
1 splash Royal Rose Organic Rose Simple Syrup + dab for glass rim
3/4 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth
2 oz fresh squeezed Valencia orange juice
5 red cherries
3" sprig fresh rosemary
1 small, sweet red chili with seeds chopped
1/4 tsp cracked rainbow peppercorn for glass rim
Instructions
In a short, thin rocks glass, dab a small drop of Rose simple syrup over an inch of the glass rim and coat with cracked rainbow or black peppercorn. Set aside. In a mixing glass, gently muddle cherries, rosemary and chopped chili with seeds. To your mixing glass add whiskey and vermouth, stirring for 60 seconds. In a bar tin add a handful of ice, freshly squeezed orange juice and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Carefully strain and pour juice and simple into rimmed glass to avoid splash. Through a fine sieve, pour whiskey, vermouth and muddled ingredients into juice and simple, stir and enjoy!
